English- I would use day 5 as a break from learning about the constitution. I decided to have use a creative writing activity that one of my english teachers when I was in high school.

Writing Activity- Have each student begin telling a story about anything they want. They can use fictional characters or share a real life experience. You will give all of the students one minute to write on their paper. When the time is up they will pass the paper to the student behind them and give another minute. The activity ends when each student has written on every paper. Lets say there are 25 students in the class. This means each story is told by 25 different narrators, each one taking the story into a whole new direction. This activity was one of the best I have come across, and it really taps into the creativity of your students. When the writing is done the papers are returned to the person who started the story and everyone gets to read theirs for the class. This lesson will hopefully rejuvenate students and get them refocused to continue Colonial Literature on Monday.

Assignment for Monday: No homework. Have a great weekend!
